2. Adversarial Opposition to the Church’s Mission!

Jesus’ mission was to seek and save that which was lost; but His message was primarily aimed at His own people. There is a Greek word often translated “beware” in the New Testament. It is found 132 times and primarily used by Jesus in the Gospels. What was He warning His own people about? What was it that made the religious segment of Jesus’ society, God’s own people, so offended at what He was saying? If Jesus came with a message of warning to His own people, it would be wise for us to take heed to His cautions. Be ready to turn those religious cows out to pasture and experience the fervent essence of God’s heart for His people…to know Him in reality!
