Living with Unshakeable Confidence
Our theme for this year is UNWAVERING. Our theme Scripture is 1 Corinthians 15:58. Every time I read this particular verse out of the Passion Translation my heart is stirred.
Paul is writing this letter to a young church immersed in a pagan culture, a church trying to find its way in a world that functions vastly different from the ideals they are learning about Christianity. The Corinthian church received the longest letters due to these challenges. Many scholars think that at one time there were actually 2 more letters that Paul had written to the Corinthian church.
Their world, like ours, was diametrically opposed to Christianity. The “force” behind this world’s system is still in operation today. (1 John 5:19 NKJV, TPT)
The world system has not changed. More importantly, God’s Word has not changed. The first part of this verse in First John tells us why we can live our lives with unshakeable confidence even in the midst of a world that is under the sway of the wicked one. We are of God!!! I love how the Message Bible puts it! (1 John 5:19 The Message Bible)
This is such an incredible promise and reality! Gods got us! We belong to Him! We are His children and He is a good Father to us. He will completely and continuously take care of us! This reminded me of another verse that compliments this thought. (Hebrews 13:5b-6 AMP)
The Greek in verse five is emphatic: He will not, He will not, He will not! The reason for our unshakeable confidence is due to the One Who is our Helper, the One Who is with us! This same promise of Presence was given by God to Joshua when he was assuming leadership after the death of Moses. This would be a massive undertaking for Joshua with monumental challenges, let alone filling the shoes of a human as heroic as Moses. But God’s Words to him, His unfailing promises held Joshua and infused him with confidence. (Joshua 1:5-9 AMP)
New seasons can be challenging. The unknown in our lives is always hard. But Joshua had God’s Presence and he leaned into His promises to fulfill the mission and live His life with unshakeable confidence.
Our strength and our confidence come from Who is with us! We can be free from fear and walk out each day with tremendous confidence in the goodness of God and His faithfulness to us and His Word. There are two objectives we must purpose to keep before us. (2 Timothy 1:7 GNT; 1 John 4:18 The Message Bible; Matthew 6:30-34 The Message Bible)
Fear takes us out of the present into the frenzy of what “could be.” The enemy is trying to form your vision and fix your attention on a “fear version” of your life. God’s Word has laid out wonderful promises, wonderful plans for us! Let’s be present; giving our entire attention to what God is doing and saying right now! If we make this transition from fear to love by leaning into His Presence with us, we can walk and live our lives in unshakeable confidence! (Hebrews 10:35-36 AMP)
God is calling us remember who we are and Whose we are! Living in the fire of His love!! Much love from Mavis and all of us at WILD!
